HAFTR's expanding student population indicated
the need for additional space. It was decided to move the
Early Childhood program to a new location to make room for
the K-6 expanding population. In 1989 NR/A designed a new
13,000 s.f. Early Childhood Center in a 5,000 s.f. auto repair
center contiguous to the main school campus. The building
had a very high interior space permitting the insertion of
a new second level. A two-story 2,000 s.f. wing was also added.
This new building provided early childhood classrooms, music
room, library, science/shop area, multi-purpose rooms, and
play yard, all independent of the main school.
Subsequently,
we submitted a proposal for a Master Plan to explore for expansion
potential on HAFTR's lower and middle school main campus.
