Education / Public Space
Cabrini Medical Center
  Staten Island University Hospital

Cabrini Medical Center has transformed their existing cafeteria into a combined dining and education center. Located on the 16th floor, the space offers commanding views of the Manhattan skyline.

The 8,200 s.f. area was planned and outfitted with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology to support multiple, simultaneous yet totally separate gatherings with seating groups from 20 to 200 people. Valuable floor space is saved through the use of newly invented soundproof walls, which telescope up into the suspended coffered ceiling space. Ceiling mounted retractable flat plasma screen video monitors are dispersed throughout to provide unimpeded projected or broadcast images to all seating locations. Infrared, voice activated, roaming video cameras pick up images of audience participants which are then projected to the monitors, assuring maximum visibility and audibility throughout.
