The Center for Chemotherapy in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn is located in an existing building with 4,000 s.f. on the ground floor, and 2,000 s.f. of support space in a finished basement.

The main floor centerpiece is the treatment room, with twelve patient stations arranged in a semi-circle around a large nurse station. The visual excitement and sense of space in the area was achieved through the design of the ceiling and facade.

The ceiling is sculpted into a series of pyramid shapes made from standard ceiling tiles and gypsum board components. The entire facade has been glazed with a translucent glass that allows daylight, but provides privacy to the patients. Additional use of clear glass at the clerestory level allows patients to look up and see the sky, but still protects their privacy.
