Maimonides Medical Center’s Labor, Delivery & Recovery Suite provides for a growing Maternity Department Services with an 11,000 s.f. expansion on the upper floor of a 23,500 s.f. new building addition. The project includes expanded Labor Rooms, traditional Delivery Rooms for high-risk births, and a suite of six new-generation Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms for low-risk births. These L/D/R rooms are specially designed to house all services and equipment for safe labor and delivery as well as provide a warm and welcoming, homelike environment where mother and newborn stay throughout their recovery period.

Also provided are new facilities for patient reception and evaluation, as well as a redesigned staff support core. The ground floor of the new addition, along with adjacent renovated areas, contains a completely redesigned and expanded Emergency Department bringing the total project area to 37,000 s.f.
